[A small word about outside calls and outside emails...]

I was having a glass of wine by myself just last Friday evening. The family was elsewhere and left the old man to himself. Testing audio gear for an upcoming show and listening , I took that Friday evening to myself and thought to myself as I was thinking about the shop...." gaaaaaaaad I get a lot of calls from outside Ottawa...." . Most of all , from the USA, where I also have clients ( I do not count these guys, my client amongst these calls ) Though I make it a point to , well, ....point out that I no longer return calls since 2007, it dawned on me that my outside calls from potential clients have risen to about 15 to 20 % from a previous approx 12 -14 % of ALL calls. There was an increase of mails, but cannot put a % on these at time of writing.

Listen up guys, we can barely manage to sustain the Ottawa guys and gals and our private clients as IT IS NOW. We have even managed to have attracted quite a few folks from Montreal and Toronto in the last years. As the french say, " du jamais vu"...unheard of . Once you go Lucster , you go no where else, yesser ree bob, that is a fact ..hmmmm , hmmmmm hmmmm good, as the pizza and sub commercial go.

So here it is,

We actually do appreciate your calls, but cannot afford to return the compliments. This is not new. At a time when audio is being revisited as a past time standard , we must revisit the actual method of delivering the voluminous sales taking place here in our own backyard. WE ARE LUCKY. Thank you thank you thank you ...ALL . BUT in spite and espescially that SP has made it a point never to go outside our own territorial borders, we do not even advertize anywhere on the net. ....we are having issues with this.

So what gives?

We have a clue, maybe even more than one , we might know why this is happening. You do not need to be an Einstein to deduce this. BUT , up and until such time,and as long as I do not pursue you folks outside our borders, I cannot service outside . Remember , I have clients that move outside our city as well , and yes, they have all stayed with us here since 1996.

So this will be my deal with you guys..... the moment I decide that SP will go outside our borders to service our new prospect of clients, THEN we let you guys know. That how incredibly lucky we feel , but we can only DO this if the standards that we ALWAYS instill with ALL our CLIENTS deliveries CAN REMAIN THE SAME AS IT IS TODAY.

WHY you say ?

Its simply a complex of mine , some would call this mental illness ( Psych guys or mental health professiionals as some like to be called, would call this the -----" Gaaaaad you are f-$% ed up Lucster complex "----- Its unique to me alone . They have a section in the DSM 4 on me alone ....what ! what !, you health care professional will have to stop thinking that I have more than 1 section in the DSM 4, where are my meds ....the martians are talking in my ears, er , er , er , those voices , those voices, the bells , the bells --- ok back to what I was saying.

Its not that I would not want too , its fun to hear new folks out, but I admit I have folks that support and carry this shop with actual wallets and bodies parked before my fat ass, that demand that I take care of them in front of me rather than the guy on the phone across the continent, is I must concur, only and actually fair. Most of you will acknowledge this. You are all nice folk too, I know this first hand.

Hoping that you outsiders will know what we are striving for, and that is simple excellence at the most basic level....keeping our clients, happy and content. And this is easier said than done and that is really what we are really about. Really. Now smile , all of you.
